Ruffie Pups - Health and Purchase Agreement

You have purchased a puppy bred only after careful consideration of the compatibility of the parents based on physical structure, temperament, and health, to be as sound and defect free as possible. This puppy has received a physical exam by a licensed Veterinarian. This agreement is not transferable and only applies to this dog, sold by us, to the recorded owner.

We make significant effort to provide you with a healthy and happy puppy.  We do health screening and DNA testing by Embark DNA on the mother and father prior to breeding. Despite screening, testing and careful breeding selections, there are medical issues that cannot be tested for and cannot be foreseen.

We do health screening for common genetic disorders that can be tested for, included but not limited to Hips, Elbows and Eyes.

We also do DNA testing for common genetic issues including PRA/prcd, vWD, EIC, DM and IC.

However, some diseases are more complex and are considered a polygenic disorder/disease or condition.  This means it takes multiple genes to pair up, as well as environmental factors, to cause a puppy to develop an inheritable polygenic condition.  No one can predetermine if puppies can develop a polygenic condition, for example Hip Dysplasia, or an autoimmune disease, despite the screening and testing done.  Testing reduces the probability of these conditions, and the possibility is low, but this does not eliminate polygenetic conditions completely.

There are also congenital disorders/conditions that have nothing to do with genetics and are not inherited from the parents. Congenital Conditions (conditions that are not evident at birth but may become evident later in life) are not covered under your health guarantee as they are out of our control.  Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee for things that cannot be tested for, nor can we control when or if it is going to happen.  Taking this risk is part of pet ownership.

In addition to inherited genetic disorders described above, there are other medical or physical issues that could occur in any puppy. These are not covered by this health guarantee.

Examples include:

̶ A pup may have an underbite, overbite, base narrow canines, as well as other dental defects. Most will self-correct as the dog grows and the baby teeth fall out, and the adult teeth come in. In some cases, they may need to be addressed by a veterinarian.

̶ A puppy may have an umbilical hernia. It could close over time on its own, or it may not and would need to be closed during the spay/neuter procedure.

̶ A male puppy may have an undescended testicle. This can be removed during the neuter procedure.

If there is a medical issue, you agree to take you puppy/dog to a Veterinarian for medical care.

If a Veterinarian certifies your puppy to be ill or to possess a congenital defect within 5 business days of purchase, the cause of which is attributable to the breeder, a replacement puppy from a future litter or refund will be provided upon the surrender of the affected puppy.  The refund is only for the purchase price of the puppy, it does NOT cover any medical expenses incurred.

If a Veterinarian certifies your puppy to have a debilitating inherited genetic disorder, or defect resulting in death or euthanasia prior and up to the puppy’s 2nd birthday, the puppy’s owner has the option of a replacement puppy from a future litter.  Shipping fees and medical costs of the puppy are NOT included in a replacement situation.

By signing this document, you acknowledge that you have read this agreement and understand our health warranty covers inherited genetic disorders only.

Ruffie Pups- Spay/Neuter Agreement

Proof of spay/neuter needs to be provided to us via email before the puppy is 9 months old. We require that the proof of spay/neuter be on veterinary hospital letterhead, showing the puppy’s name, date of birth. This puppy is being sold as a companion pet only, NOT for breeding purposes. If proof is not received by the required date, a $10,000.00 breeding dog fee will be owed to Ruffie Pups immediately plus attorney costs as required.

If you are unable to keep your Goldendoodle for any reason, Ruffie Pups will accept back any dog bred by us or we will work with you to determine how best to re-home your dog.

This Agreement will be construed in accordance with the laws of Washington state. If any legal action is to be taken by either Buyer or Seller, it will be in King County.

I have read, understood, and accepted the above as governing my purchase.
